Practice Training Contracts
Ignatius J and Associates welcomes applications for Practice Training Contracts from law graduates (LLB and JD) from NUS, SMU and approved overseas universities. We are able to offer a maximum of 2 practice training contracts at any given time. Practice trainees will be directly supervised by Mr Ignatius Joseph, our Principal Lawyer, and receive a reasonably competitive honorarium. As required under rule 19(1)(b) of the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2011, practice trainees will receive exposure to (a) civil litigation (b) criminal litigation (c) corporate practice (d) conveyancing practice Also, practice trainees will be receive training in the development of legal skills, and professional responsibility, etiquette and conduct as required under rule 19(1)(a) of the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2011. Practice trainees can expect to work closely with their supervising solicitor, and to be participate in interviewing clients, take instructions, and prepare written opinions, draft general correspondence, court documents and agreements, conduct legal research and due diligence, and assist with court work.
